Hello Fellow Todee Students:
Our first meeting was productive and encouraging, considering it was super bowl Sunday! Thanks to everyone who took the time to call in. Appreciate James calling in even though he was under the weather.

I shared with the group the purpose of the Meeting – “Todee Mission Revitalization Initiative” This was based on my visit to the campus 10/2010. I was heartbroken when I saw the condition of the campus. The faculty and others are doing their best but they need our help. But they need our help. I was told they have tried unsuccessful to get in touch with Todee alumni. Following my visit I decided to put a call out to former students and Alumni to get involved!
Brief Overview: At the time of my visit, there were about 80 students (could be more or less). The classes start from K1 to 9th grade. Students grow some of their food. Bush Hill Presbyterian Church of Alexandria, VA provides support to the school. Tuition & fees 2010 – 2011: ($535 - $585).
All those on the call agreed we should do something considering what we got from Todee - our education, values, morals, and lasting relationships. So, this is a cry for former Todee Students and Alumni to give back to the school - to support Todee – to leave a legacy.
Mr. James Hunder added that he met with Mrs. Ophelia Johnson, the lady instrumental in reopening Todee thru Bush Hill Presbyterian Church, in Alexandria, VA. He also mentioned the connection Mrs. Johnson made with Mrs. Maya Angelou, and her interest in Todee.
Mr. Hunder asked if this group will constitute the Alumni Association. We decided that the Todee Mission Revitalization Initiative committee will be a working group, leading into establishment of the Alumni Association.
We concluded with scheduling our next meeting to be held 2/27/11, @9:00 PM Eastern (8:00PM Central)
