School Ode
Keep we dear this lustrous name Oh Presbyterian School.
Struggling hard for mighty fame Oh Presbyterian School.
[With faith strong] our nation grant the helican clear coo.
With a mighty ringing sound and praise the only school.
Forward ever, backwards never, as our way we plow.
Forward ever, backwards never, by the grace of God.
Written and composed by Principal, Reverend Dr. F.R. Amet.
Motto
Forward ever, backwards never.

History of Todee from Bush Hill Presbyterian website
History of the Presbyterian Todee Mission School:
Todee Mission was founded in 1945 when Rev. Dr. Mendescole, a Presbyterian minister, persuaded then Paramount Chief, Mr. Kpana Goba, to donate land for the establishment of a mission school that would be operated by the Presbytery of Liberia. Mr. Goba had the foresight to bring educational opportunities to his people. He followed through on his vision and donated a 200-acre piece of land on the outskirts of Goba Town to make this a reality. In further pursuit of his dream, he personally undertook the building of the Goba Town Presbyterian Church, assisted with constructing the first three buildings on the Todee Mission campus; and in addition, fed the mission from his own resources for two months.
Todee Mission is located in Todee District (about 30–35 miles from Monrovia) in rural Montserrado County, Liberia. The District has a population of about 50,000 inhabitants who are mostly subsistence farmers. Todee Mission was the first and only school with a high school in the area. It included grades K–12 and accommodated 460 students, including 152 boarding students. At its peak, Todee Mission had pipe-borne water, plumbing, and electricity supplied by generators. Its large physical facility consisted of a large classroom/office building, principal’s cottage, girls’ dormitory, boys’ dormitory, and a kitchen/cafeteria building.
Manual Agricultural Grater: Self-sufficiency in food production is a major objective at Todee Mission, and great progress is being made. If you have been hoping for a special opportunity to help Todee, this is one of those times. A manual agricultural grater costs $1,000 U.S. dollars. If you would like to make a contribution toward this purchase, please make your check payable to Bush Hill Presbyterian Church and write Todee Mission in the memo area. Thank you for your continued generosity and support!
Warehouse Space: Bush Hill Presbyterian Church has just shipped a second container to Todee Mission. For future shipments, a FREE warehouse space is needed to store items until they are shipped. If anyone has or knows of someone who has warehouse space, please contact Dick Szymanski or the church office (703-971-1171; office@bushhill.org).
Update on Todee Mission Revitalization Initiative
Hello Fellow Todee Students:
Our first meeting was productive and encouraging, considering it was super bowl Sunday! Thanks to everyone who took the time to call in. Appreciate James calling in even though he was under the weather.
Those on call were:
1. Theodore Amet – amet-mt@hotmail.com
2. Lincoln Porte - pershu@verizon.com
3. James Hunder - yarncie1@aol.com
4. Imani Bendu – I292@bellsouth.net
I shared with the group the purpose of the Meeting – “Todee Mission Revitalization Initiative” This was based on my visit to the campus 10/2010. I was heartbroken when I saw the condition of the campus. The faculty and others are doing their best but they need our help. But they need our help. I was told they have tried unsuccessful to get in touch with Todee alumni. Following my visit I decided to put a call out to former students and Alumni to get involved!
Brief Overview: At the time of my visit, there were about 80 students (could be more or less). The classes start from K1 to 9th grade. Students grow some of their food. Bush Hill Presbyterian Church of Alexandria, VA provides support to the school. Tuition & fees 2010 – 2011: ($535 - $585).
All those on the call agreed we should do something considering what we got from Todee - our education, values, morals, and lasting relationships. So, this is a cry for former Todee Students and Alumni to give back to the school - to support Todee – to leave a legacy.
Mr. James Hunder added that he met with Mrs. Ophelia Johnson, the lady instrumental in reopening Todee thru Bush Hill Presbyterian Church, in Alexandria, VA. He also mentioned the connection Mrs. Johnson made with Mrs. Maya Angelou, and her interest in Todee.
Mr. Hunder asked if this group will constitute the Alumni Association. We decided that the Todee Mission Revitalization Initiative committee will be a working group, leading into establishment of the Alumni Association.
We concluded with scheduling our next meeting to be held 2/27/11, @9:00 PM Eastern (8:00PM Central)
Next Meeting Discussion
· Mission Statement/Vision
· Callers encouraged to contact other Todee Students in their database
· Website for Todee Mission Alumni association
· Fund raising (when, where, etc);
· Maya Angelou key note speaker
· Selection of committee officers
The conference call concluded with our next meeting scheduled for 2/27/11 @ 9:00PM Eastern. Conference #605-562-3000 Access Code: 553144#
