March 13, Meeting Notes

Meeting was called to order @ 9:12PM; James Hunder opened in prayers.

Those Present: James Hunder, Imani Bendu, Theo Amet

August event dates changed - New dates:  8/12 (meet and greet);  8/13 Dinner Program. Our original date of 8/20 was not available

Time: 6:30PM; dinner: 7:30PM

We discussed sale of tickets and number of tickets to be printed will be 500

Venue: Goler Family Enrichment Center, 620 N Patterson Avenue, Winston Salem, NC 27101; 336-703-9681 (contact).

Next meeting is 3/27/11 @ 8PM Central and 9PM eastern.

February 27, 2011 Meeting Notes

2/27 Meeting started at 9:15PM.

Theo opened meeting withprayers.

Those present: Imani, James Hunder, Theo Amet and Kutu Kamara.

We nominated General Chairman James Hunder to head Fund raising

Meet and greet on 8/19; Fund raising August  20, 2011, Winston Salem, North Carolina. 

Nominate coordinator in each state to hold Fund raising prior to main event on 8/2011.

Kutu Kamara to serve as Fund raising Coordinator.  Will also host a meeting, inviting former students to her home to inform them of the initiative.  She will invite students from: Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minneapolis.

Opening Bank account

We decided to open an account but have three signatures.  The following were nominated as Treasurers:  Imani, Kutu, Theo

The August Fund raising:

James mentioned the use of his Church fellowship hall and he will look into booking for the event.

Discussions for 3/13/2011 meeting:

1. Decision on Time and cost of tickets 
2. Theo to draft Mission and Vision statement
3. Tax Exempt - to be looked in (Imani)?
4. Fund raising ideas
5. Menu for August Event
6. Other Issues
